My journey to being a financial advisor started when I was working at Chick-fil-A after I graduated from Mercer with a degree in Communications Management. I had a passion for people, education, and serving others, so I started down the path of becoming a manager. I was on the management track, hoping to lead a team and possibly be an operator one day, but I wasn’t the only one with ideas about my future. I was lucky enough to have a mentor and as we were chatting about my future and my interests, he presented an idea about being a financial advisor and that my passion for service and my drive and energy would translate well to the financial planning world. I had an interest in financial markets, but I had grown up thinking of a financial advisor more like a stock broker, but I was mistaken and I am so happy that I was.
After doing some more research, I realized that the financial planning world was vastly different from my expectations. I wanted to help people, build deep relationships, and help people create the future they dream of. So, I dove in head first. I started applying for positions and started at a large firm as a financial advisor to start this journey.
The financial planning process is our secret sauce. It's what ensures every client gets a highly individualized (bespoke) financial plan. Over the years, one thing that stands out is the importance of being an active listener. Every single one of my clients have unique needs, goals, dreams, aspirations, and expectations. Success will be represented by different things for everyone, so their financial plan will be to. It is vital to us that we create plans that are bespoke, thoughtful, and malleable so that we can help you get to your goals. We keep it simple, and straight forward.
Watching client’s walk through that process and seeing the difference it can make in their lives is what makes all of the work worth it. It’s what gets me up in the morning and what excites me about the future, and we create more and more ways to help clients live richly.
Outside of the office, I like to have fun. My wife, Lindsey, is my biggest cheerleader when I am at work and my partner in crime at home. We love concerts, new restaurants, going to Brave’s games, or just hanging out at home with our long-haird dachshund, Oscar. My favorite things include: Steak from Hal’s Steakhouse, the Georgia Bulldogs, the color blue, playing baseball, watching football, reading comic books, and listening to finance podcasts.
